Bears are DUMB!!!
I don't know where to start with these bumbling Bears. I just want to go on record to say that, the fate of the 2008 Chicago Bears could have been drastically changed for the better with one move. They should have signed free agent RB Michael "The Burner" Turner when he left San Diego, instead he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons. This is how it would have changed everything this year.
1) It would have addressed the glaring need to upgrade at RB because, Cedric "The Bust" Benson couldn't gain 4 yards on a carry if his life depended on it. The only back-up who has been proven himself was Adrian Peterson (no not the one from Minnessota).
2) This would have eliminated the need to draft a RB in the first 2 rounds of the draft, leaving the door open for the Bears to take a small risk at drafting QB Brian Brohm or QB Chad Henne. I would have preffered Brohm because he ran a pro-style offense in college that involved alot of read-react and play action. Instead the Bears let these 2 QB's slide past them in the draft, and guess who picks them up: Brohm to the Packers, and Henne to the Dolphins.
Instead the Bears drafted "smart" as they like to say. I can agree with picking LT Chris Williams with the 1st round (14th overall) because if they didn't then Grossman/Orton will probably be crying for their mommy by week 2. I can't agree however with the 2nd round pick of RB Matt Forte over Brohm or Henne. I was very upset when this happened, but I was thinking..."we still have 5 rounds left, Im sure they will pick up a QB." NO, NO, NO,...and they even passed up on QB's with a high upside like, Andre Woodson, Dennis Dixon, and John David Booty. Holy Crap people!!! what in Walter Payton's name are you idiots thinking??? Isn't this the same team that drafted QB gems like Cade McNown, Craig Crenzel, Moses Moreno, and signed even signed a washed up Kordell Stewart thinking they might be the answer!?!?! We might as well have some monkeys from Lincoln Park zoo draft for us, at least they have a slightly better chance of getting it right. Many years from now when Brohm and Henne are winding down their brilliant NFL careers, we will be left wondering what if we just signed Michael Turner. Remember, Peter told you first!!!
